Does my insurance cover COVID-19 related hospitalisation charges ?

It depends on which insurance product one has. Social insurance like CGHS, ECHS, and ESI offer comprehensive health coverage including Covid-related healthcare needs. PMJAY covers Covid-19 related hospitalisation charges. It also covers pre-hospitalization diagnostic test. Most of the private insurance products cover as per the terms outlined in the policy. However, some of the policies may not cover for the expenses arising out of use of personal protective equipment.
