This event, titled “Towards People-Centered Healthcare: A Workshop on Community Engagement,” promises to shed light on the pivotal role of communities in strengthening health systems.

Taking place from 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM IST at the Administrative Staff College of India campus in Hyderabad (College Park Campus), the workshop is designed in a hybrid format to accommodate both in-person and virtual participation. The workshop agenda unfolds a series of discussions, beginning with an opening session featuring introductions and a warm welcome. Sessions will delve into redefining the term “community” in the context of health systems and exploring the impact of special interest groups on community participation. The roles of media, civil society organizations, and community health volunteers will also be explored, with the closing session emphasizing the importance of stakeholder dialogue in bridging the gap between theory and practice.

At the core of the discussions lies the essence of people-centered healthcare. The workshop acknowledges the significance of community engagement in health system governance, addressing practical nuances often overlooked in this complex landscape.

Explore community dynamics at micro, meso, and macro levels, advocating for patient-centric care. Highlighting the need to empower individuals with health education and self-management skills, the workshop emphasizes community support through engagement with local organizations, civil society, and community health workers.

This workshop comes at a crucial juncture, where communities are increasingly participating in local governance decisions, ushering in a new era of accountability. For those joining virtually, the organizers encourage participation in the transformative dialogue to shape the future of people-centered healthcare.
