The Global Learning Collaborative for Health Systems Resilience (GLC4HSR) is thrilled to announce its 2nd Annual Conclave, set to take place in the dynamic city of Singapore on March 11-12, 2024. ACCESS Health International is the secretariat for the Collaborative and InOrder is the convener of its India country chapter.

Building on the momentum from the inaugural conclave in New Delhi, which attracted a global audience of over 550 participants (on-site and online) from 20 countries, this year’s event promises to be an insightful gathering. The goal? To further the dialogue on health systems resilience, drawing together a diverse array of stakeholders including researchers, policymakers, practitioners, and industry leaders. If you are interested in participating, please register here.

The Conclave agenda includes compelling sessions centered around critical health systems themes such as, Infectious Disease Preparedness and Response, Health Financing and Sustainable Resource Allocation, Digital Transformation and Data-Driven Decision Making, and Climate Change and Its Implications for Health Systems among others.

Attendees can expect a series of engaging presentations, panel discussions, and workshops, all designed to foster collaborative action and innovation in the realm of health systems strengthening and resilience building.

The event will feature a distinguished lineup of speakers, each bringing a wealth of experience and knowledge to the discourse. Among the confirmed speakers are Dr. Aida Karazhanova, an Economic Affairs Officer at UN ESCAP in Bangkok, and Dr. Alexo Esperato, a Senior Health Specialist at the Asian Development Bank in Manila. Dr. Alice Chu, the Senior Director of Market Access & Medical Affairs at Glaukos, and Mr. Brett Marshall, Corporate Head of Quality & HSSE at Zuellig Pharma, will also share their insights. The event boasts a diverse panel, including Dr. Chaiyos Kunanusont, a Senior Advisor at the National Health Security Office in Thailand, and Dr. Chawisar Janekrongtham, Head of Secretariat for the Asia-Pacific Action Alliance on Human Resources for Health (AAAH). Dr. Chang Liu, CEO of ASK Health Asia, and Dr. Christian Verdicchio, CEO of Heart Support Australia, will contribute to the discussions. Other notable speakers include Dr. Doreen Tan, Associate Professor at the National University Heart Center in Singapore, and Mr. Edward Booty, CEO of Reach52. The extensive list continues, featuring experts from various sectors and regions, ensuring a rich exchange of knowledge and ideas during the event.

Since the inaugural conclave that took place in March 2023, the GLC4HSR has been working at refining tools and a comprehensive framework aimed at assessing health system capabilities, vulnerability, and resilience. Attendees can look forward to updates on these initiatives, including insights gained from their application across select national health systems.

The importance of robust surveillance, alert, and response systems has also been a focal point of recent dialogues. A blueprint designed to bolster these systems for future challenges will be unveiled, paving the way for further discussions and collaborations.

As the world grapples with the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic and the looming threat of climate change, the Conclave will serve as a platform to explore innovative solutions and strategies. Discussions will encompass financing mechanisms for resilient health systems, the role of digital technologies in healthcare, and the imperative to integrate diverse determinants of health into system design and policy.
