InOrder is proud to co-host an important session titled, “Multi-Stakeholder Dialogue on Systems Thinking and Approach to Reverse Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Growth,” under the Leadership, Policy, Regulations, and Guidelines track on the first day of the Global Summit on Pandemic and Disaster Response Coordination (G-SPARC) 2024.

The session, scheduled for October 3rd in Hyderabad, will provide a platform to discuss leadership strategies for managing infection prevention and control (IPC) and addressing antimicrobial resistance (AMR). It will emphasize the importance of cohesive guidelines and robust regulations in tackling these global challenges. This session is being co-hosted by the Global Learning Collaborative for Health Systems Resilience (of which ACCESS Health International is the Secretariat), Tata Institute for Genetics and Society, and InOrder-The Health Systems Institute, the India chapter convener of the GLC4HSR

The panel members for the event included Dr. N. Krishna Reddy, CEO of ACCESS Health International, who served as the moderator. The distinguished panelists were Dr. Bhupendra Kumar Rana, CEO of the Quality & Accreditation Institute (QAI); Dr. Vijay Agarwal, President of the Consortium of Accredited Healthcare Organizations (CAHO); Dr. Daniel VanderEnde, Medical Officer at CDC India; Dr. Kamini Walia, Scientist at the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR); Dr. Rakesh Mishra, Director of the Tata Institute for Genetics and Society; and Mr. Sai Prasad, Executive Director of Bharat Biotech.

G-SPARC 2024, a leading event in global health, unites leaders from various sectors to drive collaboration and innovation in pandemic preparedness and disaster response. This year’s summit is crucial in drawing lessons from recent global health crises and translating them into actionable strategies for building resilient health systems.

The session will focus on:

  • The global crisis of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and the limitations of traditional containment strategies.
  • A panel discussion on public health actions aligned with One Health, AMR surveillance challenges, and emerging technologies such as genomic surveillance and big data.
