Conducted research to uncover barriers to cloud adoption by government for the public health system across 12 countries in South Asia and the Asia Pacific regions

  • Conducted literature review and interviews with 40 respondents including policymakers, government advisors, Hospital CMIOs & CIOs, National and Regional Health-IT Experts
  • Report was launched in December 2022 through a webinar cohosted by AWS and ACCESS Health
  • Key Recommendations to overcome barriers to cloud adoption in healthcare were:

Countries should adopt a Cloud-First Policy for healthcare driven by a central digital health authority

Assess and invest in creating a foundational ICT ecosystem that furthers cloud adoption

Use a range of policy tools to realize the full potential of cloud in the digitalization of healthcare

Address capacity building as a priority to overcome the key barriers to cloud adoption
