JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are looking for a Senior Research Officer with a PhD in public health with 4+ years of postdoctoral experience in public health. The ideal candidate will possess excellent research skills and a proven track record in conducting high-quality research in public health. This role involves designing, implementing, and managing research projects
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Research Design and Implementation: Able to independently manage research projects from inception to completion.
- Develop research proposals, protocols, and methodologies and be able to conduct literature reviews as per the research design.
- Oversee and participate in data collection and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data.
- Prepare detailed high-quality reports, manuscripts, and presentations and publish findings in peer-reviewed journals.
- Present findings at national/ international conferences, workshops and seminars.
- Collaborate with external stakeholders and build relationships with key partners to bring more business to the organization.
- Mentor and build competency of team members.
- Manage project budget, timelines, and resources and ensure compliance with organisational requirements
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:
Qualifications:
PhD in Health Systems, Public Health, Epidemiology, or a related field with at least 4 years of experience OR Master’s in Public Health with at least 7 years of research experience
Experience:
- Proven at least 7-8 years of experience in writing proposals, designing and conducting research studies across different regions
- Prior work experience in health systems research, Implementation research is desirable
- Exposure to Design thinking methodology and implementation of projects
- At least 4 Publications in peer-reviewed journals including quantitative and qualitative studies
Skills and Competencies:
- Excellent research and data analysis skills.
- Proficiency in statistical software (e.g., SPSS, SAS, R, STATA).
- Experience in Tableau, Python-related software, and data visualization tools
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills.
- Commitment to ethical research practices.
- Ability to travel, if required.
NATURE OF EMPLOYMENT:
The selected candidate shall be offered a one-year contract, with possibility of extension, based on continued availability of funding and performance.
